Autumn Dance and Music features new and repertory dance works by Hanlon Dance & Company, Donna Davenport, Emmie Hatfield, Laura D’Amico, Ruben Ornelas, Laurie MacFarlane, and Jiali Wang, as well as sets of experimental music by Karsten Brooks and Martin Freeman.
Wednesday October 12 includes “Mimesis of Time” by Eran Hanlon of Hanlon Dance & Company. This solo is based on the character Morgaine from Arthurian Legends and was made in collaboration with performer Alaina Olivieri. Other soloists are Donna Davenport in “Undecided,” Laurie MacFarlane in “Fey” and Ruben T. Ornelas in “Otoño.” Emmie Hatfield shows a new sextet, “sayitagainforthepplinthebac.mp 3,” a piece that contemplates depression, inappropriate children’s songs, and gratifying dance moves. Jiali Wang's "A Clock Chaos" juxtaposes harmony, stability and disorder. Karsten Brooks, multi-instrumental composer and performer, and Martin Freeman, instrument builder and performer, will present experimental music.
On Thursday October 13, Laura D’Amico will perform “Birthday Poem,” a new piece incorporating poetry and Sufi music, with performer Justin Rielly. Davenport, MacFarlane, Ornelas, Hatfield, Wang and Brooks will complete the program.
Shows begin at 8 PM; programs are subject to change.
