This melanin love fest will give you LIFE!!! THURSDAY, AUGUST 18TH Club MOCHA Day Party FREE The MOCHA Center 189 N. Water St. #1 TIme: 3:00p - 6:00pm Cost: FREE Information, workshops, speakers, meet & greet, snacks and you can come pick up your weekend passes!! Cocktails & Conversations Tajzes Wine And R&B Lounge 150 State Street TIme: 7:00p - 11:00pm Cost: $3 Great drinks & better conversation as we build, sip and discuss some of the biggest issues facing our LGTBQ community locally and worldwide Women of Color: Traffic Light Party E/R Studios 470 State St. TIme: 10:00p - 2:00a Cost: $10 (Inflation after Midnight) This Black Queer, Trans, & Lesbian focused party will be LIT!! Come out & proudly flash your green, yellow or red wristband to let the world know just how taken you are!!! You single or nah???? FRIDAY, AUGUST 19TH State of the Community Town Hall Mtg The MOCHA Center 189 N. Water St. #1 TIme: 5:00p - 7:00pm Cost: FREE Pick up a safe sex kit, pick up your weekend pass and let your voice be heard!!!! The Get DOWN!! Old School Party The Park Bench 439 Monroe Ave TIme: 8:00p - 1:00am Cost: FREE This event for the mature in age but young at heart will feature music from the 60's, 70's and 80's spun by our favorite Throwback DJ. You are encouraged to dress in your favorite decade's best looks or like one of its most popular celebbrites. Food, great drink specials and nothing but a good time!! Vogue Rochester: Coming To America Anthology 336 East Ave. TIme: 10:00p - 2:00am Cost: $10 (Inflation after Midnight) In Rochester's favorite ode to the Ballroom scene... dress to impress as we drink and dance the night away with some friendly competition in the Queer tradition that has taken the world by STORM!!! If you've never been to Vogue Rochester honey... you have NO IDEA what you've been missing!!! SATURDAY, AUGUST 20 Black Pride Expo & Festival Edgerton Park 41 Backus St. TIme: 12:00p - 6:00pm Cost: FREE An all day outdoor love fest of music, culture and community. Live music, local and national acts, food and merchandise vendors, art and performances. The day will feature a 1st of its kind 3 on 3 Gender Neutral Basketball Tournament ( to sign-up search Black Pride 3x3 on eventbrite) with live DJ. Vybrant: Glow Party The Port of Rochester at Charlotte Beach 1000 N. River Street TIme: 9:00pm Cost: $15 For the 1st time EVER the Port of Rochester (Where the Fast Ferry used to leave from, right at the Charlotte Beach Pier) is being transformed into a club. The space is HUGE, the drinks will be flowing and the whole room will be GLOWING with neon and florescent under the black lights. Come out and GLOW UP!!!! SUNDAY, AUGUST 21ST Healing Session on the Beach Durand Eastman Beach TIme: 11:00a - 11:00pm Cost: FREE Come out and listen to the waves with yoga, guided meditations and pure peace among friends to center your spirit. The Cookout Vol 2: Family Picnic Durand Eastman Beach TIme: 2:00p - 7:00pm Cost: FREE ($2 Food ticket available day of) The closing event for Rochester Black Pride will be the annual Family Picnic. Set against Durand Eastman Park, the catered picnic will welcome friends and families as guests, provide the opportunity for testing and good old food and fun. Guests can meet, mingle, and play games then head to the beach to enjoy the water. Come out and hang out all day long and $2 will buy you a full picnic lunch that'll have you thinking your at the family reunion. Open Mic Nite The Flying Squirrel 285 Clarissa St. TIme: 8:00p - 11:00pm Cost: FREE As the final event of the weekend, the open mic is the perfect wind-down event that will give folks space to express what they are feeling. The night is open to spoken word, singers, movement performers, and artists to give them a safe space to express themselves & showcase their talents.
