The little girl at the center of this true story is Sylvia Mendez, a child in the 40's of Mexican and Puerto-Rican descent, who was not allowed to attend a "White's Only" school. was the daughter of parents who looked forward to sending her to the school near their newly leased farm. When her aunt attempted to register the family children, they were directed to the “Mexican school,” despite proficiency in English and citizenship.
Performances are June 10th, 11th & 12th at MuCCC Theater
